Tom Ashton began his music career in 1981 when post punk/goth rockers The March Violets formed in Leeds. The band went on to become an influential name in the scene worldwide and still tour and record to this day. He also filled in on guitar for goth legends The Sisters Of Mercy and The Danse Society.
In 1986, the single Turn To The Sky was chosen by director John Hughes to feature in his movie Some Kind Of Wonderful. Tom also co-wrote music for the 1988 feature Forbidden Sun while he was a member of the band Hard Rain, working in partnership with composer John Du Prez.
Throughout the 90’s he played and recorded with Clan Of Xymox, wrote music for BBC Knowledge series The Kit as well as performing in many different bands in the London area.
In 2012, he was asked by British writer/producer Phil Nutman to write the score for the upcoming zombie short Abed. Since then Tom hasn’t looked back, scoring 9 horror/thriller features for Michigan based director Daniel E. Falicki in the last three years and 2 shorts for director Ryan Lieske at Familiar Productions and director Mark A. France at Crooked Limb Studios and Production.
Tom lives in the woods of North Georgia USA with his wife and two children.
