Greg Peters spent his early years in Kenmore, NY, the son of a technical artist for General Dynamics. Through several family moves to different states because of his father’s work, Peters never lost his childhood love for drawing. He decided work as a technical draftsman in his father’s studio was not for him, and after illustration studies at Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida he moved to southern California, the heart of the animation business.
Peters eventually gained admission to Studio Arts, a Los Angeles launching pad for many film and television animators, where he learned character animation and earned a bachelor’s degree. Among his instructors was Mike Giaimo, whose film credits include visual design for Disney’s Pocahontas.
After graduation, Peters’ career found him working for Hanna-Barbera, Warner Brothers Animation (Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs, both of which won Emmys), and Walt Disney Television (Timon & Pumbaa, House of Mouse). His jobs included character design, layout, storyboarding, and prop modeling.
He has also worked on The Lion King, Rugrats, Dilbert, and countless other TV shows and movies.
